A collectable character nut cracker.
The handle opens the character's mouth, the nut is placed in the mouth and then squeeze the handles to crack the nut.
These cast metal nut crackers have a little of the copper finish remaining.
The inside of the front handle has the registered number 'rd no 776837'; this dates the nut crackers to the early 1930's.
These nut crackers incorporate a handy loop in the top of the hat allowing them to be hung on a peg / hook.
We have seen these nut crackers referred to as Father Christmas nut crackers.
