An old trench art decorative WW1 artillery shell.
Trench art was a name given to art made from military materials often by soldiers in the trenches, prisoners of war and by civilians far behind the front lines .
This particular shell is decorated with a vine of fruit.
Base of shell is stamped 'Nov 1917, ST, FN? 197, H? 27'.
